What is a Company?
A company is a separate legal entity formed by a group of people that engages in business. The members of a company share common goals and organise their skills and resources accordingly to create a successful structured business.
Companies are commercial organisations that generally try to make a profit. Owners are called Shareholders. Shareholders provide capital for the Company which means they own a portion of the Company. If such Company is successful and making a profit the Shareholders are then paid Dividends.
Companies work alongside their Stakeholders to ensure a smooth running of the business. Stakeholders are usually made up of Banks, Government, Local Authorities, Clients and Employees.
