Connecting your bank account via Akahu

Afirmo uses Akahu to connect a bank account and import authorised transactions into the Money tool.

For normal transaction syncing, the connection is read-only. Akahu can also support payment initiation, but Afirmo uses this only when you authorise a transfer into the optional Afirmo Business Wallet.

How to connect an account

1. In Afirmo, go to Money > Summary.

2. Select Add Bank Account.

3. Follow the Akahu prompts to choose and authorise the bank.

4. Complete the bank's authentication process when prompted.

5. Approve the requested data-sharing permission.

6. When you return to Afirmo, choose the account use, transaction start date and sync frequency.

7. Save the connection.

Authentication steps can vary between banks. Follow the instructions shown by Akahu and the bank.

Once connected, authorised transactions can sync into Afirmo for matching and coding.
